Green House Heater

This project explored a practical use case for emerging micro space heater technology. The aim was to design a compact, low-energy heater suited for greenhouses—an environment where heat loss is moderate and design aesthetics matter. Rather than to increase the heat of the greenhouse this is merely here to slow the rate of energy loss so that by the time the greenhouse reaches a temperature that is too low the sun would have returned allowing for a much lower cost than a traditional greenhouse heater.

Key goals included safety, cost-effectiveness, and visual harmony with greenhouse settings. The final design incorporates safety features like a centred plug and a “bee stopper” to prevent overheating if tipped. The product is designed for easy assembly, with a structure that supports potential automation as almost all components can be added from one orientation.

A prototype was 3D printed to validate internal space and appearance. While not ideal for very cold climates, the heater is energy-efficient, safe, and visually aligned with greenhouse environments.
